BIPHMUN Conference 2026
Confronting Contemporary Challenges: Climate, Crypto, Commerce, and Conflict
ABOUT BIPHMUN
We cordially invite you and your school to attend the fifth BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour Model United Nations that will take place on March 20-22, 2026 at our campus in Huizhou.
This is our fifth annual conference, and with the success from last year, we hope to deliver the same levels of professionalism, integrity, and hospitality. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their academic excellence, to improve on personal skills such as public speaking and critical thinking, as well as to foster a MUN community of global citizens to discuss international issues.
Technology increasingly defines both the pressures confronting the international community and the means by which those pressures may be addressed. Artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and space technologies reshape economic systems, environmental outcomes, and patterns of conflict, not as inherent threats, but as forces whose consequences depend on governance, oversight, and ethical restraint. When left unregulated, these innovations generate tangible risks—from environmental and health costs to financial abuse and systemic instability—yet when applied responsibly, they offer tools for resilience, transparency, and sustainable development. The importance of these challenges lies in their scale and permanence: technological decisions made today will shape global systems for decades. Addressing them requires more than reactionary diplomacy; it demands informed, forward-looking cooperation that bridges innovation with accountability. At the same time, reflection on past crises remains essential, grounding future-focused solutions in enduring humanitarian and ethical principles. It is in this spirit that BIPHMUN 2026 convenes under the theme Confronting Contemporary Challenges: Climate, Crypto, Commerce, and Conflict.
